超大学級の皮肉

Disgruntled writer in her mid-twenties, currently teaching English in Japan. Has too many online blogs/sites and has no idea yet what she is going to put here. Mostly Homestuck stuff, apparently.

Haha, Oh Me

Now I feel like a moron because it just dawned on me that the green Sburb logo in B1 is for Calliope and the red one in B2 is for Caliborn.

Durrr.

If Only Dave’s Consorts Had Been Turtles…

I was at work the other day, musing about Homestuck theories, and LeGuin’s The Lathe of Heaven popped into my head.

That’s when I realized that George Orr’s life is what it would be like for a Time player in Sburb—you go back in time to change something, and that reality is the only one everyone else knows. You, however, still have memories of the original timeline, and you have to carry that yourself. It would drive you insane.

On a different note, I was thinking about how Doc Scratch seemed to have an affinity for Light players (Vriska and Rose) probably because they’re reckless and have a thirst for knowledge and control that lends itself to getting caught in a Faustian trap. He’s also deeply involved with Time players, though a bit more directly with the Handmaid than Aradia, which makes sense, as he serves Lord English, who’s a glorified Time player.

But then I remembered that Doc Scratch was also something of a mentor to Kanaya. Bec is Jade’s actual guardian. Seems that First Guardians of planets are drawn to Space players, which makes sense, as they’re powered by the Green Sun. Why would a Space-linked entity like Scratch fall in with Time player LE? I have a hunch that it’s got something to do with Calliope, but I can’t quite figure out what.
